Title: Convergence Science in the Arctic
Summary: The Arctic is having a meltdown, literally and figuratively. It’s getting warmer, colder, wetter, drier, and more unpredictable. This is messing with the animals, the plants, the ice, and the people who live there. It’s also messing with the rest of the world, because the Arctic is a key player in the global climate system. To understand and solve these complex problems, we need to bring together experts from different fields, like climate, biology, engineering, and social sciences. This is called convergence science, and it’s like a super-powered team that can tackle any challenge.
Title: Outstanding Seniors in the College of Science: Ansh Gupta
Summary: This spring, the College of Science at the University of Arizona had the pleasure of nominating some truly outstanding seniors. We are thrilled to share their stories as they reflect on their time at UArizona. And now, it’s time to introduce our final Outstanding Senior, Ansh Gupta from the Department of Astronomy. Ansh is set to join the astronomy graduate program at The University of Texas at Austin, where he will continue to explore the mysteries of the universe. Congratulations, Ansh!
Title: Web of Science Research Intelligence
Summary: University leaders, listen up! We know you’re facing a major challenge: trying to keep track of all the research happening at your institution. It’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack, except the haystack is made up of different point solutions that don’t talk to each other. But fear not, because we’ve got the solution! Our platform is like a superhero that can access all the data you need in one place. No more searching through silos of information – we’ve got you covered!

Robert Sausaman, the assistant director of highperformance, has quit to pursue his dream of becoming a professional golfer. And Matt Sams, the director of sports science, has been replaced by a robot who can run faster than a cheetah.
Title: Random processes shape science and math: Researchers propose a unified, probabilistic framework
Summary: SFI Professor David Wolpert, a physicist, and former SFI Omidyar Fellow David Kinney, a philosopher and cognitive scientist, have come up with a groundbreaking idea that will blow your mind! They believe that math, the physical universe, and even humans can all be described using a unified, probabilistic framework. In this framework, math and science are like a never-ending game of asking and answering questions. Who knew that math could be so fun?
Title: Congressional letter seeks big increase in NASA science budget
Summary: More than 40 House members have signed a letter asking for a significant increase in NASA’s science budget for 2025. The additional funding would build up buying power for NASA science programs eroded by inflation. Congressional sources are doubtful that advocates will get any increase in science funding. But hey, at least they’ll have more money to buy fancy rockets and spacesuits, right?
